Married on a rainy day...

Saturday, 30 October 2010
Dreamers Mountain Village
Mount Beauty, Victoria.

Now we are Mr & Mrs Vieth. It rained all day long and into the evening but no-one was deterred from having a good time. Our ceremony was meant to take place outdoors but the grassy area became a lake for the ducks. Dreamers had a wet weather venue (the Pavilion) for our ceremony - Wendy & her team set this up in such a beautiful way and the glass doors made it feel like we were outdoors anyway.

Roy was attended by bestman, Roger (Roy's brother) and Coreena attended by Marni (her best friend) who helped to make our day very special.

Immediately after the ceremony we enjoyed some bubbly, fruit punch with gourmet salmon & brie sandwich fingers to snack on - yum! As it was raining all our photos at this stage took place in the Pavilion with our guests surrounding us (we did manage to get some other outdoor photos while using our specially purchased umbrellas for the occasion).

The reception was in another room at Dreamers, a very intimate venue for a small reception of 26 people. The meal was sensational... entree of home-made spring rolls, main was a plattered selection of chicken tandoori, lamb backstrap, pork spare ribs, rice, baked potatoes and a delicious pear, rocket & spinach salad.

Now dessert was great... Coreena didn't have to worry about fitting into a wedding dress anymore... sensational home-made profiteroles and fruit salad.  Dessert was enhanced by the brilliance of our nephew Jeremy and his incredible chocolate mud cake specially decorated with strawberries, cream & home-made marzipan peguins.

Our wedding cake - WOW - just have a look at the photo - made with love by Roy's mum Brigitte and sister Petra.

When it came to music... we were entertained by the wonderful "Alegria Duo" comprising of Martin & Priscilla. A perfect selection of music for the whole night through. A great fun day & night - it went by so quickly but with memories we will cherish.

Now for the honeymoon...

  3. Hi there. You know that photo with the two red umbrellas actually works really well, despite them being to keep the rain off.
    LOVE the cake. Really great.
